Drug name: Generic Ery

Active substance: Erythromycin

Pharmacological effects: Ery or erythromycin is a bacteriostatic macrolide antibiotic. Bacteriostatic effect is associated with inhibiting the synthesis of proteins in the bacterial cells.

Action spectrum includes gram positive microorganisms that produce penicillinase. The most of gram negative microorganisms are resistant to erythromycin.

Indications: Ery is approved to treat infections caused by sensitive to erythromycin microorganisms. Ery drug uses include:

• Bacterial infections of the lungs
• Bacterial infections that affect nose, ears, throat, mouth
• Bacterial infections of the eyelids
• Bacterial infection of the skin and soft tissue
• Infections of the digestive system
• Inflammation of the bone caused by bacteria
• Inflammation of the urethra of the bacterial etiology
• Sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea and syphilis
• Scarlet fever

Ery should not be taken in viral infections

Warnings and Precautions: The drugs should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation.
• Known allergy to other macrolide antibiotics
• Severe liver disease
• Jaundice in anamnesis
• Severe kidney dysfunction
• Abnormal heart rhythm(arrhythmia)
• Abnormal muscle weakness
• Blood disease called porphyrias
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
