Drug name: Venlaxor

Therapeutic actions: The drug belongs to a class of drugs called serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor or in other words antidepressants. In clinical trials the drug and its metabolite has showed strong inhibiting effect on serotonin and noradrenalin reuptake. In its effect the drug is similar to tricyclic antidepressants but a little stronger.

Indications: The drug is indicated in treatment of depressive conditions accompanied by anxiety, as prophylaxis of depression in recurring depressive syndrome.

Contraindications and cautions: The drugs should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation
• Use of MAO inhibitors
• Sever liver and renal insufficiency
• Pregnancy and lactation therapy
• Age below 18 years old
