Drug name: Brand Diflucan

Active substance: Fluconazol

Pharmacological effects: Fluconazol is an antimycotic drug which works by inhibiting the fungal enzymes activity and affecting cytochrome P450. The drug blocks the formation of ergosterol, thus affecting fungal cell wall growth and replication. Fluconazol does not affect cytochrome P450 in the human body and only affects fungal cells. The drug does express any antiandrogenic activity.

Indications: Brand Diflucan may be used in such conditions as:

• Systemic change caused by Cryptococcus infection including
• Generalized and other forms of candidosis
• Mucous membrane candidosis
• Genital candidosis, balanitis.
• Prophylaxis of mycotic infections
• Skin mycoses
• Severe endemic mycoses

Warnings and Precautions: The drugs should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.

Brand Diflucan may be used with caution in such conditions:

• Liver and renal dysfunction
• Alcohol addiction
• Pregnancy
• Lactation period
• Age under 6 months.

During treatment haematological parameters liver and renal fucntion should be monitored. Untimely stop of the preparation may cause remissions.

Side effects: Drugs may cause side-effects which in specific patients may manifest differently.
