Active substance: Ketoconazole

Pharmacological effects: Ketoconazole belongs to the group of drugs called antimycotics. It is active in treatment of the following:

• eumycetes
• staphylococci

Ketokonazole works by interfering in the synthesis of ergosterol, which is used by the fungal cell for the formation of the cellular wall, resulting in changes in the walls permeability and leading to cell death.

Warnings and Precautions: Brand Nizoral should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
• Pregnancy
• Lactation period

• Achlohydria
• Liver and renal dysfunction
• Alcohol addiction
• Hypochlorhydria
• Young age under 2 years
