Baldness

Baldness, also known as alopecia, is a state of hair lacking in the places where it used to grow. The types of baldness, as well as the causes of it are different. A very common type of a male-pattern baldness is when it is localized to the top and front of a head. Other types of thedisease are patchy or how it is medically called alopecia areata or alopecia capitis totalis – condition when baldness affects the entire head.

In women hair loss is a permanent fact. In most of the cases female baldness is mild to moderate. No treatment is required if the person is comfortable with her appearance. For women who do not feel comfortable with their look, such medication as minoxidil are advisable. It is helpful in 25% of cases with a concentration of 2%.
