Ventolin Online

Active Ingredients: Salbutamol

Pharmacological effects:

Ventolin is a beta-adrenoceptor agonists, bronchodilatory drug for the prevention and relief of attacks of asthma and bronchoobstructive syndrome. Salbutamol has a pronounced bronchodilatory effect, prevents and relieves bronchospasm, increases lung capacity, activates the function of ciliated bronchial epithelium. The drug also has a tocolytic effect that lowers the tone and the contractile activity of myometrium.

Indications:

In pulmonology, allergology:

  • Prevention and relief of bronchospasm in all forms of asthma, including nocturnal asthma
  • prevention and treatment of reversible airflow obstruction: chronic obstructive bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, bronchospasm in bronchitis

In obstetrics and gynecology:

  • threatening preterm labor with contractile activity on16 to 38 weeks of pregnancy
  • surgical correction of isthmic-cervical insufficiency
  • prevention and treatment of placental insufficiency
  • surgery on the pregnant uterus
  • treatment of habitual miscarriage

Warnings and Precautions: The drugs should not be used in the following conditions:

  • hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations
  • ischemic heart disease
  • hypertension, heart failure, tachyarrhythmias, myocarditis
  • heart defects, aortic stenosis
  • decompensated diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism
  • pheochromocytoma, glaucoma
  • hepatic or renal insufficiency
  • I trimester of pregnancy, miscarriage threat in I and II trimester of pregnancy
  • breastfeeding

For IV administration: infection of the birth canal, fetal death, fetal malformations, fetal cardiac arrhythmias, bleeding from placenta previa or premature detachment of the placenta.

Side effects: Drugs may cause side-effects which in specific patients may manifest differently. In the following paragraph we want to underline the most serious and frequent side effect of Ventolin that were identified by the drug manufacturers. The possibility of the adverse effect manifestation depends only on the individual and his specific traits. Salbutamol side effects include:

Inhaled forms:

  • tachycardia, decreased blood pressure
  • headache, restlessness, anxiety, sleep disturbance
  • urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, hypotension, collapse
  • other: muscle tremor, nausea

Forms for systemic use (oral and infusion):

  • Distal tremors
  • Facial flushing, sweating
  • Nervousness, restlessness, headache, dizziness, insomnia, cramps
  • Nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, anorexia, diarrhea
  • Difficulty urinating
  • hyperglycemia, hypokalemia
  • hypotension, arrhythmia, tachycardia, myocardial ischemia, heart failure
  • allergic reactions (urticaria, angioedema, erythema, swelling of the face)
