Active substance:

Coldrex HOT rem and Coldrex Max Grip: paracetamol, phenylephrine, ascorbic acid

Coldrex + vitamic C: caffeine, paracetamol, phenylephrine, ascorbic acid, terpin hydrate

Pharmacological effects:

Coldrex HOT rem and Coldrex Max Grip contain a combination of paracetamol, phenylephrine and ascorbic acid. Paracetamol  belongs to a group of medicines called non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAID). Paracetamol works by decreasing the production of inflammatory mediators called prostoglaninds via inhibiting the enzyme called COX(cyclooxygenase). Paracetamol exerts antipyretic and analgesic action. Phenylephrine belongs to a group of chemical compounds called sympathomimetics.  Phenylephrine works by narrowing blood vessels in the nasal mucous lining and paranasal sinuses. This helps to decrease edema and improve nasal breathing.

Ascorbic acid(vitamin C) exerts immune-stimulating action, increases the resistance of the organism to to the infections.

Coldrex+vitamin C also contains caffeine and terpin hydrate. Caffeine works by stimulating central nervous system. Caffeine enhances the analgesic effects of paracetamol. Terpin hydrate possesses expectorative properties.

Indications: Coldrex preparations are indicated to relieve the symptoms of common cold:

• Fever
• Weakness
• Muscular pain
• Headache
• Cough
• Nasal congestion
• Sneezing
• Pain in the throat and nasal passages

Warnings and Precautions: Coldrex should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
• Severe liver and kidney diseases
• Thyroid diseases(thyrotoxicosis)
• Diabetes
• Deficiency of lactose
• Cardiovascular diseases such heart attack, high blood pressure,  tachyarrhythmia and aortic stenosis
• Diseases of the prostate gland
• Closed-angle glaucoma
• Children under 12 years of age
• Chronic alcoholism
• Pregnancy and lactation period(breastfeeding)

Do not take the medicine more than 7 days
