Active Ingredients: levonorgestrel, ethinyl estradiol

Therapeutic actions: Microgynon is an oral contraceptive, which contains an estorgen - ethinyl estradiol and a gestogen - levonorgestrel. The drug works by suppressing ovulation and maturation of the egg. The drug also affects cervical secret thus making the sperm incapable of fertilizing the egg cells.

Indications: The preparation is most commonly used as a contraceptive or birth control.

Contraindications and cautions: the preparation is contraindicated for use in the following conditions:

  • Migraines
  • Diabetes with vascular complications
