Active substance: Valeriana officinalis

Pharmacological effects: Therapeutic action of Valeriana is associated with a complex of biologically active substances like volatile oils, glycosides, alkaloids, organic acids and polysacharides. Valeric acid possess spasmolytic action. Valeriana exerts sedative action, lowers cardiac rhythm and widens coronary arteries, lowers the excitability of CNS, facilitates sleep onset. Valeriana tablets also exerts bile expelling action and enhances the secretary activity of the gastrointestinal system. Valeriana is effective in prolonged, systematic treatment.

Indications: Valeriana is indicated as a sedative preparation in conditions associated with agitation, increased excitability, sleep disorders, migraines, light functional disorders of the cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems.

Warnings and Precautions: Valeriana should not be used in the following conditions:
