Active substance: amlodipine

Pharmacological effects: Norvasc is an antihypertention medication from the calcium channel blockers group. By blocking calcium channels in the smooth muscles of the blood vessels, Norvasc widens blood levels resulting in lowering of blood pressure. Norvasc improves coronary blood flow and cardiac output, lowers peripheral resistance and myocardium need in oxygen.

Indications: Norvasc is licensed for the treatment of the following conditions:

• Hypertension(high blood pressure)
• Coronary heart disease
• Stenocardia(angina)

Warnings and Precautions: The drug should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
• Severe hypotension
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding

Norvasc should be used with caution in:

• Liver and kidney diseases
• Congestive heart failure
• Aortic stenosis
• Heart attacks
• Mitral stenosis
• Sick sinus syndrome
• Hypotension(low blood pressure
