Lisinopril Online

Drug name: Lisinopril

Active substance: Lisinopril

Pharmacological effects: Lisinopril belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors or ACE inhibitors for short. By interfering with the activity of this enzyme, Lisinopril reduces the production of angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is vasocontrictive agent that narrows blood vessels causing high blood pressure. By acting on ACE lisinopril also lowers the synthesis of aldosterone resulting in decreased diuresis and reduced blood volume.

Indications: Lisinopril is approved for the treating of the following cardiovascular conditions:

  • High blood pressure controlling
  • Congestive heart failure treatment
  • Treatment of cardiovascular diseases in post infarction period

Warnings and Precautions: The drug should not be used in the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
  • History of angioedema associated with therapy with ACE inhibitors
  • Hereditary or idiopathic angioedema.
