Active substance: Doxazosin

Pharmacological effects: Cardura belongs to a group of drugs called alpha-blockers. Cardura therapeutic effects are associated with blocking alpha receptors located in different parts of the human body. By blocking alpha-1 receptors in gall bladder and prostate gland tissue Cardura relaxes bladder neck and the muscles of the prostate. The indication of Cardura in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia leads to the improvement of urodynamics and relieving BPH symptoms.

By blocking the alpha-1 receptors in the blood vessels, Cardural lowers high blood pressure and peripheral resistance.

Indications: Cardura is approved for the treatment of the following conditions:

• Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia
• High blood pressure treatment

Warnings and Precautions: The drug should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
• Severe liver and kidney diseases
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding
• Hypotension(low blood pressure)

Cardura may cause a piaprism (painful erection). Seek medical attention if you noticed the first signs of painful erection.
