Pharmacological effects: Bisacodyl is a laxative agent that stimulates the enzymes of the large bowel's mucous lining. The effect of bisacodyl is related to the stimulation if the nerve knots in the intestinal wall. As a result, Bisacodyl increases water electrolytes secretion in the large bowel, inhibits their reabsoption,enhance vermicular motion.

Indications: Bisacodyl is approved for the treatment of the following conditions:

• Consipation relief(caused by insufficient bowel movement)
• Preparation of the large bowel to endoscopic and x-ray examinations

Warnings and Precautions: Bisacodyl should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
• Bowel obstruction
• Inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity
• Stomach pain of the unknown origin
• Stomach and uterine bleedings
• Hyperkinetic constipation
• Acute proctitis
• Acute hemorrhoids
• Intestinal tumors
• Disorders of the water and electrolyte imbalance
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Chilren under 6 years of age
