Active Ingredients: Tadalafil

Pharmacological effects:

Tadalafil is effective, reversible and selective inhibitor of specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). When sexual stimulation causes local release of nitric oxide, inhibition of PDE5 by tadalafil leads to increased levels of cGMP in the cavernous body of penis. The result is relaxation of the smooth muscles of the arteries and blood inflow to the tissues of the penis, which causes erection. Tadalafil has no effect in the absence of sexual stimulation.

Tadalafil improves erection and the possibility of successful sexual intercourse. The drug acts within 36 hours. The effect is manifested in as little as 16 minutes after intake in the presence of sexual arousal.

Indications:

• erectile dysfunction

Warnings and Precautions: The drugs should not be used in the following conditions:

• hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
• adolescents and women
• severe hepatic and / or renal failure

It should be considered the potential risk of complications during sexual activity in patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system:

• myocardial infarction within the last 90 days
• unstable angina or angina occurring during sexual intercourse
• chronic heart failure that developed in the last 6 months
• uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmia
• hypotension
• uncontrolled hypertension
• stroke in the last 6 months

Precautions should be excercised in patients with predisposition to priapism (such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma or leukemia) or patients with anatomical deformation of the penis (such as angulation, cavernous fibrosis or Peyronie's disease).

Side effects: Drugs may cause side-effects which in specific patients may manifest differently. In the following paragraph we want to underline the most serious and frequent side effect of Tadalafil that were identified by the drug manufacturers. The possibility of the adverse effect manifestation depends only on the individual and his specific traits. Tadalafil side effects include:

• most frequent: headache, indigestion
• possible: back pain, myalgia, nasal congestion, flushing
• rare: edema of the eyelids, eye pain, conjunctival hyperemia, dizziness
