Drug name: Dermovate

Active substance: Clobetasol propionate

Pharmacological effects:

Dermovate contains the active ingredient clobetasol propionate that belongs to part of medications called corticosteroids. Dermovate works by exerting anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory action, lowers swelling and hyperemia, relives itching and irritation in the place of application.

Indications: Dermovate is approved for the treatment of the following conditions:

• Psoriasis
• Eczema
• Lichen acuminatus
• Discoid lupus erythematosus
• Other skin diseases resistant to corticosteroids

Warnings and Precautions: Dermovate should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
• In children under 2 years of age
• Infections of the skin caused by fungi, viruses and bacteria
• Acne rosacea
• Perioral dermatitis
• Genital and perianal itching
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding

Dermovate side effects: Drugs may cause side effects which in specific patients may manifest differently. In the following paragraph we want to underline the most serious and frequent side effect of Dermovate that  were identified by the drug manufacturers. The possibility of the adverse effect manifestation depends only on the individual and his specific traits.

• Local Dermovate side effects include: stretch mark, pigmentation disorders, hypertrichosis, dryness of the skin, acne, itching and birnin
• Systemic Dermovate side effects: gastritis, increased intra-ocular pressure, symptoms of hypercorticism
