Active substance: methylprednisolone aceponate

Pharmacological effects: Advantan contains the active ingredient  methylprednisolone aceponate that belongs to a group of medications called corticosteroids(glucocorticoids). Advantan works by suppressing inflammatory and allergic skin reactions as wall as reactions caused by increased proliferation. This helps to relive objective symptoms(erythema, edema, lichenification) and subjective sensations(itching, irritation and pain).

Indications: Advantan is approved for the treatment of the following conditions:

• Atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis
• Eczema
• Contact dermatitis
• Allergic dermatitis
• Dishidrotic eczema
• Microbial eczema
• Degenerative eczema

Warnings and Precautions: Advantan should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
• Tuberculosis of the skin
• Syphilis
• Rosacea
• Perioral dermatitis
• Skin reaction caused by vaccination
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding

Advantan side effects: Drugs may cause side effects which in specific patients may manifest differently.
