Pharmacological effects: Levoxyl is a synthetic levogyratory isomer of thyroxine. After partial transformation into triiodothyronine (in the liver and kidneys) and passage to the cells of the body, the drug affects the development and growth of tissues and on the metabolism. Levoxyl in small doses has anabolic effects on protein and fat metabolism. In medium doses, the drug stimulates the growth and development, increases the oxygen demand of tissues, stimulates the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, increases the functional activity of the cardiovascular system and central nervous system. In high doses, levothyroxine inhibits production of thyrotropin-releasing hormone of hypothalamus and pituitary TSH. The therapeutic effect is observed in 7-12 days of the treatment. Clinical effect in hypothyroidism is manifested in 3-5 days. Basedow's disease is reduced or disappears within 3-6 months. Indications:
