Active substance: heparin sodium

Pharmacological effects:

Lioton is a medication with anti thrombotic action for the local application. Lioton exerts anti-exudative and anti-inflammatory action. The medication also possesses antiedemic and anti-proliferative action.

Anticoagulation effect is associated with inhibiting the conversion of prothrombin into thrombin as well as decreasing the platelets aggregation. Lioton impair the activity of hyaluronidase, increases the fibrinolytic properties of the blood.

Indications: phlebemphraxis, thrombophlebitis, superficial periphlebitis, varicose ulcer, post operative varicose phlebitis, traumas, concussions, local edemas, subcutaneous hematoma.

Warnings and Precautions: Lioton should not be used in the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.

The medication should be used with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
