Pharmacological effects: Nystatin is an antifungal medication that is effective against candida strains. Nystatin works by fitting into the cells membrane and causing the production of many channels. This contributes to increase of osmolarity that is ultimately fatal for the microorganisms.

Indications: Nystatin is indication in the treatment and prophylaxis of vaginitis caused by Candida strains

Warnings and Precautions: The drugs should not be used in the following conditions:

• Pregnancy

Avoid sexual intercourse while the treatment with Nystatin. Your sexual partner should receive anti fungal therapy as well.
